Jakarta Data Center Phase II is one of the largest data center expansion projects in Indonesia, developed by PT DCI Indonesia, a leading data center operator in the country. The project aims to expand computing power and data storage capacity in the Jakarta core area, meeting the growing demand for cloud computing, big data, and digital services in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
Burkaf partnered with NTT Indonesia, a top Japanese telecommunications and ICT service provider, to provide perforated cable trays and grounding wires for the electrical system of this data center expansion project.
High-Density Cable Heat Dissipation: The Phase II expansion added a large number of server cabinets, with power and data cables densely arranged. The heat generated during operation required effective dissipation to prevent heat buildup that could affect cable lifespan and data center cooling efficiency.
Electrical Safety and Grounding Protection: As critical information infrastructure, the data center demanded extremely high standards of grounding protection for the electrical system, requiring complete grounding continuity to prevent static buildup and electrical faults.
System Compatibility for Expansion Project: Phase II needed to be compatible with the existing Phase I system. The cable tray and grounding systems had to coordinate with existing facilities to ensure overall electrical system consistency.
Tropical Climate Conditions: Indonesia has a tropical rainforest climate with high temperatures and high humidity, presenting additional challenges for corrosion resistance of metal products.
Meeting NTT's High Standards: As a global-leading ICT service provider, NTT imposed strict requirements on supplier technical standards, quality management, and delivery systems.
Burkaf provided perforated cable trays and grounding wires to fully address the electrical system requirements of Jakarta Data Center Phase II.
1. Perforated Cable Trays: Superior Cable Heat Dissipation
Perforated cable trays feature an open-bottom hole pattern, allowing heat generated by cables during operation to dissipate upward naturally, preventing heat buildup inside the tray. In high-density data center scenarios, this characteristic is especially critical—helping maintain cable operating temperatures within allowable limits, extending cable life, and avoiding added burden on the data center's cooling system.
2. Complete Grounding Protection System
Burkaf provided dedicated grounding wires and matching connectors, ensuring reliable electrical continuity between tray sections and between the tray system and the main grounding grid. Proper grounding continuity effectively prevents static buildup, reduces electrical fault risks, and ensures the safety of data center equipment and personnel.
3. Seamless Integration for Expansion Project
Burkaf products maintained design and specification compatibility with the Phase I system, ensuring that the Phase II tray and grounding systems integrated smoothly with existing facilities, achieving overall electrical system consistency and unified management.
4. Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Products feature hot-dip galvanized finishing, providing outstanding corrosion resistance suitable for Indonesia's hot and humid tropical climate, ensuring long-term stable operation of the data center.

Burkaf products successfully passed technical reviews and quality inspections by NTT Indonesia, with complete product documentation, test reports, and quality traceability documents provided, demonstrating the capability to serve a world-class ICT service provider.
Jakarta Data Center Phase II was successfully completed and put into operation in 2024.
