The Ghazlan Power Plant is one of the largest power stations in Saudi Arabia, serving as a backbone electricity supplier in the Eastern Province. The Ghazlan 1 Expansion Project added combined cycle units, converting the existing simple-cycle gas turbines into high-efficiency combined cycle mode, significantly improving power generation efficiency without increasing fuel consumption. This project is a key initiative under Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" to enhance energy efficiency.
Extreme High Temperature Environment: The project site is located in a tropical desert climate zone, with summer temperatures exceeding 50°C for extended periods, imposing stringent requirements on heat resistance, anti-aging performance, and structural stability of cable tray systems.
Complex Cable Routing: Combined cycle units involve multiple systems including gas turbines, HRSGs, and steam turbines, requiring dense and highly standardized cable support and protection.
High-Standard Delivery Requirements: The client SEC and EPC contractor Energy China demanded strict compliance with international standards for safety, maintainability, and long-term reliability of the electrical control system.
To address the high-temperature environment and complex routing requirements of this project, Burkaf supplied a complete cable tray system and accessories, including straight sections, bends, tees, couplers, supports, covers, and other components, providing a one-stop solution.

Burkaf cable trays utilize heat-aging-resistant materials and hot-dip galvanized surface treatment. They operated continuously in temperatures exceeding 50°C without softening, deformation, or corrosion, ensuring stable performance throughout the entire lifecycle.

From main cable routes to branch control circuits, Burkaf provided a full range of accessories, eliminating mismatches caused by multi-supplier sourcing. Non-standard bends were custom-manufactured as needed, reducing on-site cutting and modification work.

All products strictly comply with IEC, NEMA, and other international standards, ensuring proper segregation between power and control cables as well as adequate heat dissipation spacing, helping the EPC contractor pass SEC's electrical acceptance.
4. Synchronized Delivery with EPC Schedule
Burkaf coordinated closely with Energy China's construction schedule, achieving precise batch-by-batch delivery with no project delays caused by cable tray supply.
5. Professional Technical Support
Burkaf provided pre-sales selection guidance, on-site installation assistance (within contract scope), and complete product test reports with quality traceability documentation.
The combined cycle unit was successfully commissioned in 2025, significantly improving the overall thermal efficiency of the power plant.
