Project Type: Data Center Electrical Infrastructure
Location: Warsaw, Poland
Commissioning Year: 2024
Products Supplied: Perforated Cable Trays, C-Channels (Unistrut / Strut Channels), Grounding Wires
The Warsaw Data Center is one of the largest and highest-rated Tier IV data centers in Central Europe, owned and operated by Beyond.pl, a leading Polish data center operator. Renowned for its high availability, security, and energy efficiency, it serves global enterprises, cloud service providers, and financial institutions.
To support the electrical infrastructure of its Phase II expansion, Burkaf partnered with ABB Poland, the project contractor, to supply perforated cable trays, C-channels, and grounding wires, providing reliable support for cable routing and equipment installation.
High-Density Server Cabinet Cooling & Management
Data centers feature high-density server cabinets with extensive cabling. Cable heat dissipation is critical for equipment stability. Traditional closed trays restrict airflow, requiring a better cable management solution.
Strict International Standards & Certification
As a facility serving global clients, the project demanded that all electrical products comply with EU CE certification standards and meet the rigorous reliability and safety requirements of a Tier IV data center.
Cabling Flexibility & Maintainability
Data centers require frequent cable additions, changes, and maintenance throughout their lifecycle. The cable tray system must offer excellent accessibility and ease of maintenance.
Need for a Complete Equipment Support System
Beyond cable trays, the data center required a companion support system for electrical equipment and conduit fixing—C-channels (strut channels) were needed to ensure secure installation and orderly layout.
Burkaf supplied perforated (ventilated) cable trays. The unique open-hole design promotes airflow, helping dissipate heat from cables in high-density server cabinet areas. Additionally, the perforated structure makes it easy to secure cables with zip ties, significantly improving wiring efficiency and daily maintenance convenience.
A complete C-channel system with fittings was provided for fixing cable trays, supporting electrical equipment, and securing conduits. The C-channel system offers flexible installation and high load-bearing capacity, adapting to the complex installation environment of the data center.
Dedicated grounding wires and connectors were supplied to ensure reliable electrical continuity between tray sections and secure connection to the data center's overall grounding system, meeting Tier IV requirements for electrical safety and static discharge protection.
All products were CE certified, complying with EU market access standards. This ensured that safety, environmental, and quality requirements of the project were fully met.
The Warsaw Data Center Phase II electrical infrastructure project was successfully completed and commissioned in 2024.
Burkaf perforated cable trays effectively improved cable heat dissipation in high-density rack areas, earning recognition from ABB Poland (contractor) and Beyond.pl (owner).
The C-channel support system provided a flexible and reliable solution for equipment installation.
The grounding wire system ensured electrical safety, meeting Tier IV data center standards.
This successful project demonstrates Burkaf's capability in high-end data center infrastructure. Perforated cable trays offer an effective solution for heat dissipation and maintainability in high-density cabling environments, while C-channels and grounding systems complete the overall electrical support and safety protection framework. Burkaf continues to provide professional, reliable cable support and protection solutions for data centers, industrial plants, commercial buildings, and various other project types.
